Everyone is at Joey's new apartment except for Chandler, who apparently is still taking the moving-out very hard. He and Joey have a good telephone conversation over the phone that same night, and the oven timer at Chandler's rings off, signaling the start of Baywatch, which the two watch and comment upon over the phone. Joey, however, finds living alone solitary and slightly depressing, and talks to Monica and Phoebe about how he might want to move back with Chandler. Ross and Rachel, on the other hand, convince Chandler that there's no way Joey wants to move back in.
Now that he's dating Rachel, Ross is spending a lot more of his free time at her apartment. As a result, he and Monica soon begin to descend into the kind of petty arguments they had when they were kids. As the two squabble over what to watch on TV, Monica admits she hated Ross when she was growing up. Ross feels hurt, and Monica makes up with him by assuring him she loves him now (and not just because she has to).
When Joey visits Chandler to talk about their living situation, he meets Eddie, Chandler's new roommate. Eddie seems to click pretty well with Chandler, convincing him to move the mail around and to prefer eggs \"à la Eddie\" to eggs \"à la Joey\". When Joey confronts Chandler about this, Chandler tries to show some closure, and that by moving out, Joey couldn't expect Chandler not to find \"new eggs\". Time gives an answer to Chandler, however, as Eddie lacks the features which made he and Joey great friends, as Eddie likes neither Foosball nor Baywatch. Joey also quickly finds that living alone isn't as great as he thought it would be, and the episode ends with Chandler and Joey staring in the rain - and in Joey's case, in the electric raindrop glass - as the two begin to realize how much they miss living together.
Friends is an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994 to May 6, 2004. The series revolves around a group of friends in the New York City borough of Manhattan. The series was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The original executive producers were Crane, Kauffman, and Kevin S. Bright, with numerous others being promoted in later seasons.Kauffman and Crane began developing Friends under the title Insomnia Cafe in November/December 1993. They presented the idea to Bright, with whom they had previously worked, and together they pitched a seven-page treatment of the series to NBC. After several script rewrites and changes, including a second title change to Friends Like Us, the series was finally named Friends and premiered on NBC's coveted Thursday 8:30 pm timeslot. Filming for the series took place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California in front of a live studio audience. The series finale, airing on May 6, 2004, was watched by 52.5 million American viewers, making it the fourth most watched series finale in television history and the most watched episode of the decade.
On the sitcom Friends, actress Lisa Kudrow portrays Phoebe Buffay, an eccentric masseuse and amateur singer-songwriter with poor musicality.[3] The character regularly performs her original, peculiar songs at Central Perk,[3] a New York-based coffeehouse at which she and her five friends often socialize.[4][5] \"Smelly Cat\" was written for the character by Kudrow with Adam Chase, Betsy Borns and Chrissie Hynde.[6][7] The song was conceived in 1995 by Borns, a Friends writer who originally intended for its lyrics to be about a pungent dog entitled \"Smelly Dog\".[8] Having a tendency to incorporate aspects of her personal life into Friends episodes, Borns initially based the song on a malodorous dog she had once owned named Gouda (named after the cheese),[8][9] at first penning it \"as an ode to her childhood pet\",[10] before ultimately deciding a song about a foul-smelling cat would be more humorous.[8] Chase, another writer on Friends, also contributed lyrics.[11] Kudrow composed the melody herself, as she had done for all of her character's original songs.[12]
The song appears in season two's \"The One Where Eddie Moves In\",[38] in which Phoebe attempts to record a professional rendition of the song in a recording studio.[32] She struggles to record with background singers.[33] Phoebe eventually films a music video for the song,[39] for which her voice is ultimately dubbed by a professional singer,[30] voiced by E. G. Daily.[27][40] Phoebe initially believes she is hearing herself sing and thinks she sounds good.[41] Upon learning the truth, Phoebe ultimately feels sorry for the anonymous singer instead of pitying herself.[42] The song is then heard in season three's \"The One with Phoebe's Ex-Partner\", in which Leslie (again portrayed by Daily),[43] a singer with whom Phoebe used to perform,[44] suggests that \"Smelly Cat\" be adapted into a jingle for a cat litter commercial.[45] Phoebe ultimately refuses the offer,[42] but Leslie sells the song without Phoebe's permission, prompting her to write \"Jingle Bitch\" about Leslie.[30][46][47] The product is named \"Smelly Cat\" Kitty Litter, after the song.[48] Phoebe performs the song as a duet with Rob, portrayed by musician Chris Isaak, although Phoebe criticizes his rendition,[28] suggesting that the singer refrain from incorporating his signature high-pitched yodeling in favor of \"a more masculine note\".[4][49] Phoebe also leads her friends in a sing-along version of \"Smelly Cat\" at Central Perk,[50] each of whom contribute a solo, except Ross Geller (Schwimmer) because there are no more lines.[51]
Ranking \"Smelly Cat\" among Friends' 10 best running gags, Gillian Furmage of WOW247 wrote that the show simply \"wouldn't be Friends without the anthem that is 'Smelly Cat'.\"[125] Calling it one of television's 12 best running gags, Refinery29's wrote that the song \"still brings the laughs years after the show's end.\"[126] Erin Fitzpatrick Digital Spy ranked \"Smelly Cat\" the 11th best original song from within a television show.[127] Kat George of Bustle ranked the video the third best video the Friends characters watched during the series, while ranking the commercial for the single seventh.[42] Although Hyndes used to get annoyed by fans asking her to perform \"Smelly Cat\" on stage, she has grown used to the popularity of it and now considers the song to be \"probably my biggest legacy now.[2] Portuguese comedy group Gato Fedorento named themselves after \"Smelly Cat\",[128] which translates to Gato Fedorento in Portuguese.[3] To commemorate the show's 25th anniversary in September 2019, Google created several Friends-themed easter eggs which appear in the search results when the name of a main character is searched.[129][130] Searching \"Phoebe Buffay\" or \"Phoebe\" returned an image of a guitar which,[131] when clicked,[132] promoted Kudrow's rendition of \"Smelly Cat\" to play in the background,[133] while a black cat walks across the screen as a green cloud of gas is excreted from its backside to indicate its stench.[117][129]
i just started watching this show. i know im late but i avoided it and my friends been pounding me about it for years. so ive finally decided to watch it. man have i been missing out.anyway my question is, when it comes to caprica...do i watch the movie first of the tv show
Thank you Johnny for your informative and well-researched list.I have one question, you said after the end of Season 3 \"Most fans would agree that it's worth watching the end of Razor again at this point\", how much of the end/from what scene did you have in mind when you wrote that Thanks.
For what it's worth, I just finished watching the series on DVD via Netflix, and your guide was incredibly helpful, so thanks! That being said, I watched it on regular DVD, not Blu-Ray, and all of the extended editions that you mentioned were available on those standard DVDs.Thanks again!
Hi Michael, thanks for letting me know. I did a lot of research before I watched the show, and I was pretty sure the extended versions were Bluray only... I wonder if there's a new release out there Thanks for the heads up, though.
Thanks alot for this page. Your guide helped me as I started to get every piece of the series together and had some confusion on when to watch what.BSG will be with me always and it is with great sadness that I watched \"the plan\" today and found it all at an end. The series is by far the best I have ever seen and in my life there have been several to move me. May it live on forever. So say we all.
I just finished with watching whole show in that order. Just have The Plan left. Also i am planing to watch Caprica now so it would be nice to see viewing order for Caprica. Thanks for great tutorial. :)
Sorry, I've no idea. I've never watched any of the \"behind the scenes\" specials.I think Battlestar Galactica: Revealed/The Phenomenon aired before Season 4 and The Last Frakkin' Special aired before the final episode... I *think*.
Great blog, Johnny. I just want to confirm: Will watching \"The Plan\" after \"No Exit\" spoil anything I'm just three episodes away from \"No Exit,\" and I like the idea of finishing with the actual finale of the series, not \"The Plan,\" if possible.
Hi Alex, thanks very much.I don't believe anything will be spoiled, but just go ahead and watch the finale instead. Watching The Plan first was just a suggestion. I watched The Plan after the finale and enjoyed it. You just have to be prepared to go right back to the beginning of the story.
No Alex, I think you might get more of a sense of closure if you watch The Plan before the finale, which is why I suggest it in my guide.I don't _recommend_ you pick either order: Just choose the one that feels right for you.If you watch The Plan before finale, write back here with your feelings at its placement. 59ce067264
