p.p.s. I am using the Plantronics Voyager One USB headset, there is a link to it in the first post. The Pinnacle headset is the same except it is not usb, like the Plantronics Voyager One. I have used both headsets on linux, the Plantronics Voyager One only with Plantronics drivers, and the Pinnacle headset with the Pinnacle USB drivers.
p.p.s. I am going to copy this post on to the Plantronics forum, and will post this on the linux.org forum. I will try the Sennheiser drivers, if they don't work I will just use the Plantronics drivers.
p.p.s. I have discovered the drivers that come with the headset are Win95 drivers, and so won't work with the latest kernel. I have found a page that says that it can be done, and it is specific to the Voyager headset, but it doesn't say how. This is my first post, I have posted on a few forums, and never received any replies.
I don't know if I should post this on the Plantronics forum or here. I looked up the Sennheiser drivers, they looked interesting, but I don't know if they will work with the Pinnacle headset. I am not a Linux guru, I am just a computer user that wants to get into Linux, and I am stuck on this particular problem right now.
Also I've noticed that when I plug in the headphones into my USB port, windows automatically disables the inbuilt speakers. I have to go into my control panel and turn the speakers back on again. Is there any way to fix that?

Hi Boris,
Thanks for your reply, but I'm still having problems with the Plantronics CMR103. After following the instructions on the Plantronics site, I still can't get it to work. The terminal states that the device is not ready to use and even though I connect using the headset, it doesn't work. The Plantronics support site is useless and doesn't provide any details. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.1, using the default alsa drivers, and pulseaudio. I have an optical audio connection, and I've tried using both the optical and the USB in/out, and neither work. I'm not sure what else to try. It worked perfectly in 10.04, using the.inf file they provided, but after upgrading to 12.04.1, it stopped working. I'm at a loss, and I'm starting to think the USB port on my computer is broken.
If another hacker does this, then they will be able to put any game on the ps3 in a matter of minutes! and that means that Sony will be out of the console market for good. We have seen what happens when sony doesn't support games anymore. Nintendo is turning a profit, now it is time for Sony to do the same, or else they are dead.
I don't see the appeal of owning a Sony PS3, and I don't see the value of the PS3 as an entertainment device. Sony has become one of the most untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry in my eyes. 827ec27edc
