This is what I have had to do in order to get the required driver setup for my Latitude E6430 in MDT. I have also had to run the script a few times until it appears that all of the required drivers were successfully imported.
This script will create the drivers folders and selection profiles and it will then check for the correct driver file and then copy it into the folder for that device. It will then create the other required folders for the selection profiles and then create the required Windows PE profiles that I need, then I can now import these into MDT. This script should be copied into a file and then run from the command line.
You could also use the automatic import tool that is built into Windows PE to import the drivers from the organised folders, but I prefer to use this script and the script you can see above. Here are the steps that I followed:
I created the 2 selection profiles for the x64 and x86 folders in Windows PE. For each of them, I added the driver folders for the selected model to the profile. In this case, I have the folders for the E6430 and then the E6440. I also chose to create the other PE profiles that are needed.
System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The driver could not be installed. I am getting this exception on my Dell Latitude E6430 (12th Gen Intel Core Family) after trying to install a driver with Dell Online Deployment Tool in Developer Mode. The only thing different between my laptop and what I am trying to install is that the laptop is a 12th Gen Intel Core Family. When I try to install the driver it throws the following exception:
Some applications, such as Java, require that the application directories and libraries are updated to a newer version before the user can update. However, there are some applications that are not explicitly API-specific, such as the X Window System, the X server source code, are automatically updated as required.
