While I was working on the film, I met a man named Bob Gale, who later become my Manager. Bobhad the same 'dream' of making cartoons and wanted to be an animator. When I told him about my 'occupation' (Animation student) he was overjoyed, and he made me 'the manager' of his dream project.
Disney is famous for having a 'dream team' of animators that are handpicked by TheBrothers. The original 'dream team' was, of course, Walt himself and his brother, Fred.[1] Well, I now see that the 'dream team'is really a group of people who are skilled and talented in the art of animation, and thatis a good thing. Then in 1968 Ifound out that the Disney company was starting a new show called 'Pinocchio.' The show was going tobe on after the 'Mickey Mouse Club' and it had a story written by Burl Ives. I auditioned for theshow and was hired to do character animation on Pinocchio.
